Do not be afraid of this place because they are Japanese rules, not American rules. Sometimes, Japanese people get it right! Also, this is more than just a place to stay. It is like a museum, so you get an experience, included. Like a 2 4 1 deal. Asian customer service doesn't discriminate based on social class, like American customer service. I think poor people are still Okyaku sama (honorable customer), just like rich people.

The staff is incredible. Every single one makes their work exceptionally good. Breakfast is delicious. I don't like scramble but they do it just perfect (btw you can get eggs not scrambled, so I did it just out of curiosity). There is enough of common space: showers, tables, etc. Wi-fi works perfect for me (though I don't consume too much traffic). It's near the Walmart, a couple of other stores and some restaurants.

Be aware that the main tourist street of cancun is about a 20 25 minutes drive. It's not a party hostel or something like that.
